Abstract: In this note we show by implementing the associativity conditions of OPEs in terms of modes that there exist exactly two chiral algebras consisting of one Virasoro operator , one current (for ), and a doublet (for ) of current algebra primaries of dimension 3/2. The simplest of these is the recently uncovered chiral extension of the Poincare algebra . The second is a chiral extension of the . The latter is a novel -algebra that is analogous to the famous Bershadsky-Polyakov algebra , and is expected to play a role in the AdS/CFT correspondence.
