Abstract: We study space-time-fractional analogues of evolution equations arising in applications toward the theory of structural damping equations of plate/wave type. On the generalization to be adopted, we consider an integro-differential counterpart of the sigmaevolution equation of the type egin{equation*} partial_t^2 u(t,x)+mu (-Delta)^{frac{sigma}{2}} partial_t u(t,x)+(-Delta)^sigma u(t,x)=f(t,x), end{equation*} with sigma>0 and mu>2, that encodes memory of extit{power-law} type. To do so, we replace the time derivatives partialt and partialt2 by the so-called Caputo-Djrbashian derivatives of order and , respectively, and the inhomogeneous term f(t,x) by the Riemann-Liouville integral I0+1alphaf(t,x), whereby 0<alphaleq1. For the solution representation of the underlying Cauchy problems of parabolic type (case of 0<alphaleqfrac12) and hyperbolic type (case of frac12<alphaleq1) on the space-time [0,T]imesmathbbRn, we then consider the wide class of pseudo-differential operators, endowed by the fractional Laplacian (Delta)fracsigma2 and the two-parameter Mittag-Leffler functions . On our results, we use the fact that the Fourier multipliers of the aforementioned pseudodifferential operators are radially symmetric to represent the convolution kernels of both Cauchy problems in terms of the Hankel transform. In doing so, dispersive and Strichartz estimates yield from the sharp control of the decay of the Fourier multipliers of such operators.
