Abstract: We consider the degenerate normalized -Laplacian equation with general variable exponents -igg{|Du|^{alpha(x,u,Du)}+a(x)|Du|^{eta(x,u,Du)}igg}Delta_{p}^{N} u =f(x) ext{in} B_{1}, p>1, where , , and . We establish regularity for viscosity solutions by making use of compactness argument, scaling techniques and localized oscillating. Such regularity result is a generalisation of the local H"{o}lder gradient regularity for viscosity solutions to the degenerate -Laplacian equation in Attouchi et al.(J. Differential Equations, extbf{265}: 1922-1961, 2018). In addition, we also obtain nearly optimal pointwise regularity for a new model of the normalized -Laplacian equation involving non-homogeneous degeneracy -H(x,Du) Delta_{p}^{N}u=f(x) ext{in} B_{1} , where fulfills certain suitable hypotheses and . It's worth noticing that differently from the approach in Jesus (Calc. Var. Partial Differential Equations, extbf{61} (2022), Paper No. 29, 21 pp), which uses geometric tangential methods and a refined improvement of flatness approach, the method in this paper is based on an improved oscillation-type estimate inspired by the ideas in Attouchi et al.(J. Math. Pures Appl, extbf{108}: 553-591, 2017).
