Pseudodifferential Operators on the Noncommutative Torus: a Survey

Abstract: This article presents a survey of recent developments on pseudodifferential operators on the noncommutative torus in two frameworks, as a Rieffel deformation and as a spectral triple. We describe currently available constructions of pseudodifferential operators on the noncommutative torus: in association to a $C^{\ast }$-dynamical system, by using an analogue of the Fourier series representation of a function in the (commutative) torus $C^{i}nfty(mathbb{T}^n)$, as a Rieffel deformation of the standard pseudodifferential operators on $C^{i}nfty(mathbb{T}^n)$, and in association to a spectral triple.
