Abstract: In this paper we study the approximate controllability of fractional partial differential equations associated with the so-called Hilfer type time fractional derivative and a non-negative selfadjoint operator A with a compact resolvent on L2(Omega), where OmegasubsetRRN (Ngeq1) is an open set. More precisely, we show that if 0leule1, 1<mule2 and OmegasubsetRRN is an open set, then the system egin{equation*} egin{cases} D^{mu,

u}_tu+Au=fchi_{omega};;&mbox{ in };Omega imes(0,T),\ (I_t^{(1- u)(2-mu)}u)(cdot,0)=u_0 &mbox{ in };Omega,\ (partial_tI_t^{(1-

u)(2-mu)}u)(cdot,0)=u_1 &mbox{ in };Omega, end{cases} end{equation*} is memory approximately controllable for any T>0, u0inD(A1/mu), u1inL2(Omega) and any non-empty open set omegasubsetOmega. The same result holds for every u0inD(A1/2) and u1inL2(Omega).
