Abstract: Let be a metric space and be a Banach space. In this paper we address several questions about the structure of . We prove that has the Daugavet property in the following cases: 1) is a convex subset with non-empty interior of a finite-dimensional Banach lattice and is any Banach space. 2) is a Banach lattice with the metric approximation property and is any space. 3) is a Banach lattice with having the metric approximation property and is any length metric space. This constitutes a big progress on the open question [11, Question 1]. We also prove results for the octahedrality of . For instance, we prove that is octahedral if has any cluster point and is a Banach lattice with enjoying the MAP. These results yield in progresses on the question whether octahedral implies octahedral, explicitly posed in [5]. Finally we prove that if is octahedral then is octahedral for every Banach space , which gives a complete solution to [21,Question 1.2].
