abla cdot (u abla v)+a u^alpha-b u^eta-c|
abla u|^gamma,\ au v_t=Delta v-v+u .\ end{cases} end{equation} The problem is formulated in a bounded and smooth domain of , with , for some positive numbers , , , . As far as we know, Keller-Segel models with gradient-dependent sources are new in the literature and, accordingly, beyond giving a reasonable ecological interpretation the objective of the paper is twofold: 1.) to provide a rigorous analysis concerning the local existence and exensibility criterion for a class of models generalizing the above problem, obtained by replacing with ; 2.) to establish sufficient conditions on the data of the problem itself, such that it admits a unique classical solution , for and with both and bounded. We handle 1.) whenever appropriately regular initial distributions , are considered and and obey some regularity properties and, moreover, some growth restrictions. Further, as to 2.), for the same initial data considered in the previous case, global boundedness of solutions is proven for any , provided that .
