Abstract: Let lambda1,ldots,lambdak and alpha1,ldots,alphak be nonzero algebraic numbers for some integer kgeq1 and let L=mathbbQ(lambda1,ldots,lambdak,alpha1,ldots,alphak) be the number field. In this article, we classify the tuples (alpha1,ldots,alphak) such that the sum lambda1alpha1n+cdots+lambdakalphakn takes values inside mathcalOL for n in a finite set or an infinite set. In another interesting result, we prove that for rational functions fi with algebraic coefficients, if the sum for infinitely many values of ninmathbbN, then via the subspace theorem, we prove that . Our approach generalizes the classical question of sufficient conditions for algebraic integers using trace operators. We also give a different proof of Fatou's Lemma over number fields.
