Abstract: We present in this work a proof of the exponential dichotomy for dynamically defined matrix-valued Jacobi operators in (mathbbCl)mathbbZ, given for each omegainOmega by the law [Homegaextbfu]n:=D(Tn1omega)extbfun1+D(Tnomega)extbfun+1+V(Tnomega)extbfun, where Omega is a compact metric space, T:OmegaightarrowOmega is a minimal homeomorphism and D,V:OmegaightarrowM(l,mathbbR) are continuous maps with D(omega) invertible for each omegainOmega. Namely, we show that for each omegainOmega, [ ho(H_{omega})={z in mathbb{C}mid (T, A_z);mathrm{is; uniformly; hyperbolic}}, ] where ho(Homega) is the resolvent set of Homega and (T,Az) is the SL(2l,mathbbC)-cocycle induced by the eigenvalue equation [Homegau]n=zun at zinmathbbC.
