Abstract: Let V and V be vector spaces over the same field with operatornamedim(V)=n and operatornamedim(V)=m. Let c:VotimesVightarrowVotimesV and d:VotimesVightarrowVotimesV be solutions of the Yang-Baxter equation. We show that the Tracy-Singh (or block Kronecker) product of the matrices c and d with a particular partition into blocks of c and d is the representing matrix of a solution of the Yang-Baxter equation, ildecd:mathcalWotimesmathcalWightarrowmathcalWotimesmathcalW, with operatornamedim(mathcalW)=nm. Iteratively, it is possible to construct from c and d an infinite family of solutions of the Yang-Baxter equation.
