Spectral gap bounds on H-type groups

Abstract: In this note we provide bounds on the spectral gap for the Dirichlet sub-Laplacians on $H$-type groups. We use probabilistic techniques and in particular small deviations of the corresponding hypoelliptic Brownian motion.
