Abstract: We prove that every postsingularly finite entire map g can be approximated by a sequence of postcritically finite complex polynomials (pn) such that their dynamics g|Pg and pn|Ppn on the corresponding postsingular sets Pg and Ppn are conjugate for every ninmathbbN. To establish this result, we introduce the notion of combinatorial convergence for sequences of entire Thurston maps (fn) defined on the plane mathbbR2 and having the same marked set A for all ninmathbbN. We prove that if such a sequence converges combinatorially to a Thurston map fcolonmathbbR2omathbbR2, then the sequence of Thurston pullback maps (sigmafn) converges locally uniformly on mathrmTeich(mathbbR2,A) to sigmaf.
