Abstract: Following some previous attempts, we introduce and study a new invariant, called quasi depth, associated to a quotient of monomial ideals in a ring of polynomials , which gives a combinatorial upper bound for the Stanley depth. As an application, we tackle the case of the squarefree Veronese ideal of degree .
Partitions of sets (05A18) Polynomial rings and ideals; rings of integer-valued polynomials (13F20) Gröbner bases; other bases for ideals and modules (e.g., Janet and border bases) (13P10) Combinatorics of partially ordered sets (06A07) Dimension theory, depth, related commutative rings (catenary, etc.) (13C15)
