Combinatorial aspects of partitions of integers (05A17) Combinatorial identities, bijective combinatorics (05A19) Elementary theory of partitions (11P81) Partition identities; identities of Rogers-Ramanujan type (11P84) Hilbert-Samuel and Hilbert-Kunz functions; Poincaré series (13D40) Gröbner bases; other bases for ideals and modules (e.g., Janet and border bases) (13P10) Singularities in algebraic geometry (14B05)
The author considers two formulas written by S.~Ramanujan in a letter to G.~H. Hardy. He discusses the role played by partitions, \(q\)-series and Roger-Ramanujan identities in the proof of these formulas proposed by G.~N. Watson. The discussion involves also arc spaces, the arc Hilbert-Poincaré series, singularity theory, Groebner bases, Gordon identities and differential algebra.
