Abstract: Let $W{B}_n$ be the welded (or loop) braid group on n strands, $ngeq3$. We investigate commutator subgroup of $W{B}_n$. We prove that the commutator subgroup $W{B_n}^{\prime }$ is finitely generated and Hopfian. We show that $W{B_n}^{\prime }$ is perfect if and only if $ngeq5$. We also compute finite presentation for $FW{B_n}^{\prime }$, the commutator subgroup of the flat welded braid group $FW{B}_n$. Along the way, we investigate adorability of these groups.
