On varieties all groups of which have a property close to solvability
From MaRDI portal
(Redirected from Publication:796640)
A variety of groups V is solvable if and only if G'\(\neq G\) for any group \(G\in V\). In particular for any prime \(p\geq 5\) there exists a nontrivial locally finite p-group G for which \(G'=G\). There exists a 2-group G with the identity \(x^ 4=1\) such that \(G'=G\). A variety of groups V is solvable if and only if each V-group is residually solvable. A variety of groups V is nilpotent if and only if each V-group is residually nilpotent.
