Abstract: Given an abelian variety and a point we denote by the closure of the subgroup of generated by . Let . We denote by the map from to its Kummer variety. We prove that an indecomposable abelian variety is the Jacobian of a curve if and only if there exists a point such that is irreducible and is a flex of .
