Abstract: We consider spherical principal series representations of the semisimple Lie group of rank one

. There is a family of unitarizable representations

in an interval on

, the so-called complementary series, and subquotient or subrepresentations of

G

being negative integers. We consider the restriction of

under the subgroup

H = S O (n - 1, 1; m a t h b b K)

. We prove the appearing of discrete components. The corresponding results for the exceptional Lie group

F_{4 (- 20)}

and its subgroup

S p i n (8, 1)

are also obtained.
