Abstract: The purpose of this expository paper is to present new directions in the classical Nielsen-Reidemeister fixed point theory. We describe twisted Burnside-Frobenius theorem, groups with Rinfty emph{property} and a connection between Nielsen fixed point theory and symplectic Floer homology.
