Compactness of products of Hankel operators on the polydisk and some product domains in \(\mathbb C^2\)

Abstract: Let mathbbDn be the polydisk in mathbbCn and the symbols such that phi and psi are pluriharmonic on any (n−1)-dimensional polydisk in the boundary of mathbbDn. Then Hpsi∗Hphi is compact on A2(mathbbDn) if and only if for every 1leqj,kleqn such that jeqk and any (n−1)-dimensional polydisk D, orthogonal to the zj-axis in the boundary of mathbbDn, either phi or psi is holomorphic in zk on D. Furthermore, we prove a different sufficient condition for compactnes of the products of Hankel operators. In mathbbC2, our techniques can be used to get a necessary condition on some product domains involving annuli.

It is discussed the following question: how compactness of Hankel operators interacts with the behaviour of the symbol on the boundary. The answer is given in the form of a number of sufficient conditions for compactness of the product of Hankel operators in the case of polydisk and some other product domains in \({\mathbb C}^2\).
