Abstract: Let L be a divergence form elliptic operator with complex bounded measurable coefficients, omega a positive concave function on (0,infty) of strictly critical lower type pomegain(0,1] and ho(t)=t1/omega1(t1) for tin(0,infty). In this paper, the authors introduce the generalized VMO spaces mathopmathrmVMOho,L(mathbbRn) associated with L, and characterize them via tent spaces. As applications, the authors show that (mathrmVMOho,L(mathbbRn))ast=Bomega,Last(mathbbRn), where Last denotes the adjoint operator of L in L2(mathbbRn) and Bomega,Last(mathbbRn) the Banach completion of the Orlicz-Hardy space Homega,Last(mathbbRn). Notice that omega(t)=tp for all tin(0,infty) and pin(0,1] is a typical example of positive concave functions satisfying the assumptions. In particular, when p=1, then ho(t)equiv1 and (mathopmathrmVMO1,L(mathbbRn))ast=HLast1(mathbbRn), where HLast1(mathbbRn) was the Hardy space introduced by Hofmann and Mayboroda.
