Realisability problem in arrow categories

From MaRDI portal

Abstract: In this paper we raise the realisability problem in arrow categories. Namely, for a fixed category mathcalC and for arbitrary groups HleG1imesG2, is there an object phicolonA1ightarrowA2 in operatornameArr(mathcalC) such that operatornameAutoperatornameArr(mathcalC)(phi)=H, operatornameAutmathcalC(A1)=G1 and operatornameAutmathcalC(A2)=G2? We are interested in solving this problem when mathcalC=mathcalHoTop, the homotopy category of pointed topological spaces. To that purpose, we first settle that question in the positive when mathcalC=mathcalGraphs. Then, we construct an almost fully faithful functor from mathcalGraphs to operatornameCDGA, the category of commutative differential graded algebras, that provides among other things, a positive answer to our question when mathcalC=operatornameCDGA and, as long as we work with finite groups, when mathcalC=mathcalHoTop. Some results on representability of concrete categories are also obtained.
