Also known as rotating cylinders model

Named after

Geoffrey Ingram Taylor, Maurice Marie Alfred Couette

a fluid confined in between two rotating cylinders of different radii and angular velocities

For low relative angular velocities and for small gap (relative to the diameters of the cylinders), i.e., for a small Reynolds number, the flow is steady and purely azimuthal.
