Set System Blowups

From MaRDI portal

Abstract: We prove that given a constant kge2 and a large set system mathcalF of sets of size at most w, a typical k-tuple of sets (S1,cdots,Sk) from mathcalF can be "blown up" in the following sense: for each 1leilek, we can find a large subfamily mathcalFi containing Si so that for ieqj, if TiinmathcalFi and TjinmathcalFj, then TicapTj=SicapSj.
