Some notes on endpoint estimates for pseudo-differential operators

Abstract: We study the pseudo-differential operator egin{equation*} T_a fleft(x ight)=int_{mathbb{R}^n}e^{ixcdotxi}aleft(x,xi ight)widehat{f}left(xi ight), extrm{d}xi, end{equation*} where the symbol a is in the H"{o}rmander class Sho,1m or more generally in the rough H"{o}rmander class LinftyShom with minmathbbR and hoin[0,1]. It is known that Ta is bounded on L1(mathbbRn) for m<n(ho1). In this paper we mainly investigate its boundedness properties when m is equal to the critical index n(ho1). For any 0leqholeq1 we construct a symbol ainSho,1n(ho1) such that Ta is unbounded on L1 and furthermore it is not of weak type (1,1) if ho=0. On the other hand we prove that Ta is bounded from H1 to L1 if 0leqho<1 and construct a symbol ainS1,10 such that Ta is unbounded from H1 to L1. Finally, as a complement, for any 1<p<infty we give an example ainS0,11/p such that Ta is unbounded on Lp(mathbbR).
