    The paper deals with estimates for the eigenvalues \(E\) of the Schrödinger operator \[ -\Delta + V \text{ in } L^2(\mathbb{R}^\nu) \] with complex-valued potential \(V\). For real potentials \(V\) it follows from the Sobolev inequality that \[ |E|^\gamma \leq C_{\gamma,\nu}\int_{\mathbb{R}^\nu} |V|^{\gamma + \nu/2} dx, \] where \(C_{\gamma,\nu}\) is a constant independent of \(V\). \textit{A. Laptev} and \textit{O. Safronov} [Commun. Math. Phys. 292, No. 1, 29--54 (2009; Zbl 1185.35045)] conjectured that, for any \(\nu \geq 2\) and \( 0<\gamma \leq \nu/2 \), there is a \(C_{\gamma,\nu}\) such that this inequality holds for all eigenvalues \(E \in \mathbb{C} \setminus [0,\infty]\). Proofs of this conjecture were given by \textit{A. A. Abramov} et al. [J. Phys. A, Math. Gen. 34, No. 1, 57--72 (2001; Zbl 1123.81415)] for \(\nu =1\), \(\gamma =1/2\), and by \textit{R. L. Frank} [Bull. Lond. Math. Soc. 43, No. 4, 745--750 (2011; Zbl 1228.35158)] for \(\nu \geq 2\), \(0<\gamma \leq 1/2\). The authors prove the Laptev-Safronov conjecture for radial potentials if \(\nu \geq 2\) and \(1/2 < \gamma < \nu/2\). Further, they prove that, for \(\nu \geq 2\) and \(1/2 <\gamma <\nu/2\), there exists a sequence of real-valued potentials \(V_n\) such that \(- \Delta + V_n\) has the eigenvalue 1, but \(\|V_n\|_p \to 0\) for any \(p>(1+\nu)/2\), which is not a contradiction to the Laptev-Safronov conjecture, because the conjecture is given only for the eigenvalues \(E \in \mathbb{C} \setminus [0,\infty]\).
