The aim of this paper is to prove the analogues of a direct part of Gonchar's theorem and Suetin's theorem for two generalized Padé approximations to polynomial expansions introduced by \textit{N. Bosuwan} and \textit{G. López Lagomasino} [J. Approx. Theory 231, 15--40 (2018; Zbl 1392.41010)]. Let $E$ be an infinite compact subset of the complex plane $\mathbb{C}$ such that $\overline{\mathbb{C}}\setminus E$ is simply connected and let $F$ be a function holomorphic in some neighborhood of $E$. Let $\Phi$ be the exterior conformal mapping from $\overline{\mathbb{C}}\setminus E$ onto $\{w\in\overline{\mathbb{C}}: \vert w\vert >1\}$ satisfying $\Phi(\infty)=\infty$ and $\Phi'(\infty)>0$. Let $\mu$ be a finite positive Borel measure with infinite support supp$(\mu)$ contained in $E$ and $p_n(z)$ be the orthonormal polynomial of degree n with respect to ě with positive leading coefficient, $$s_n(z):=\int\frac{\overline{p_n(\zeta)}}{z-\zeta}\,d\mu(\zeta),\quad z\in\overline{\mathbb{C}}\setminus {\text{ supp}}(\mu)\,.$$ The measure $\mu\in\text{Reg}_2(E)$ if and only if $\lim\limits_{n\to\infty}\vert s_n(z)\vert ^{1/n}=\vert \Phi(z)\vert ^{-1}$. Let $\Delta(\xi)$ be the first indicator and $\sigma(\xi)$ be the second indicator. The analogue of the direct part of Gonchar's theorem for orthogonal Padé approximants is following assertion. Fix $m\in\mathbb{N}$. If $F$ has a pole of order $\nu$ at $\xi$ in $D_{\rho_m(F)}$, then $\displaystyle \Delta(\xi)\leq\frac{\vert \Phi(\xi)\vert}{\rho_m(F)}$ and $\sigma(\xi)\geq\nu$, where $\rho_m(F)$ is the index of the largest canonical domain $D_{\rho_m(F)}$ to which $F$ can be extended so that $F$ has at most $m$ poles counting multiplicities. The proofs of analogues of Suetin's theorem for these two generalized Padé approximations are heavily relying on an extension of Poincaré's theorem on recurrence relations developed by \textit{V. I. Buslaev} [Sb. Math. 200, No. 7, 981--1050 (2009; Zbl 1182.30058); translation from Mat. Sb. 200, No. 7, 39--106 (2009)].
