In this paper a variational framework for the solution of interior problems in multiply-connected domains is developed. This allows the treatment of a variety of interfacial problems in mechanics, in connection with regular and hypersingular boundary element methods. The authors are also concerned with the treatment of hypersingular operators, by means of Maue's identity for the evaluation of kernels. A variety of numerical examples illustrate the abstract results of the paper.
