A short proof of the localization formula for the loop space Chern character of spin manifolds (Q6039640)

In an earlier paper with \textit{N. Higson} [Doc. Math. 24, 1677--1720 (2019; Zbl 1429.58018)], the second author recovered Connes' tangent groupoid for a compact Riemannian spinor manifold from the spectrum of an appropriate algebra of Laurent polynomials. In that paper, a spinor bundle was constructed over this groupoid. In the paper under review, the authors show that a heat kernel element exists in an algebra reflecting the rapid decay elements of the above algebra. They use this result to give a short proof of the localization formula for the loop space Chern character of a compact Riemannian spin manifold.
