Minkowski has a classical result in algebraic number theory that says if $R$ is the ring of integers of a number field, then every ideal $I\subset R$ contains an element $x$ such that the index $[I:Rx]$ is bounded by an explicit multiple of $\sqrt{(\text{disc}(R))}$. \textit{D. W. Masser} and \textit{G. Wüstholz} [Math. Z. 215, No. 4, 641--653 (1994; Zbl 0826.14025)] generalized this result to torsion-free $R$-modules $L$ of finite rank over any order $R$ in a division $Q$-algebra. This generalization shows that there is a free $R$-submodule of finite index in $L$, with index $[L:R]$ bounded polynomially in terms of disc$(R)$. The authors of the paper under review inspire by results from Minkowski's Theorem on lattices and Masser and Wüstholz's class index lemma [\textit{D. W. Masser} and \textit{G. Wüstholz}, Publ. Math., Inst. Hautes Étud. Sci. 81, 5--24 (1995; Zbl 0854.11030)] to develop a quantitative result on reduction theory for lattices over division algebras equipped with skew-Hermitian forms. They use their main result of the paper to apply it to certain cases of the Zilber-Pink conjecture in moduli spaces of abelian varieties. The paper is written in a very professional format and is a good resource for interested researchers in the field.
