The setting considered here is a continuous action of an infinite topological group \(G\) by homeomorphisms of a compact Hausdorff space \(X\) preserving a Borel probability measure \(\mu\) and the relationship between its topological and measure-theoretic properties. Various notions related to rigidity (convergence to the identity of sequences in the acting group) are introduced: rigidity, uniform rigidity, and \(\mu\)-\(\Omega\)-equicontinuity for a given infinite sequence \(\Omega\) in \(G\); for a function \(f\in L^2(\mu)\) the notions of \(\mu\)-\(\Omega\)-equicontinuity and \(\mu\)-\(\Omega\)-mean-equicontinuity are defined. The main results concern finding equivalent conditions for \(f\in L^2(\mu)\) and the system \((G,X)\) to be rigid. In the case of commutative \(G\) and \(X\) constrained to satisfy the first axiom of countability equivalent conditions are found for the system \((G,X)\) to be uniformly rigid. The results extend those of \textit{F. Cai} [Nonlinearity 33, No. 8, 3739--3762 (2020; Zbl 1445.37012)] and of \textit{C. Luo} and \textit{Y. Zhao} [Acta Math. Sci., Ser. B, Engl. Ed. 42, No. 2, 769--773 (2022; Zbl 1513.37005)] to group actions.
