Abstract: We show that perfect complexes of commutative ring spectra satisfy excision and -descent. These results generalize Milnor excision for perfect complexes of ordinary commutative rings and -descent for perfect complexes of locally noetherian derived stacks by Halpern-Leistner and Preygel, respectively.
