Spherical Maximal Operators on Radial Functions
From MaRDI portal
Abstract: Let denote the spherical means in ( is surface measure on , normalized to ). We prove sharp estimates for the maximal function where is a fixed set in and is a {it radial} function . Let (the critical exponent of Stein's maximal function). For the cases (i) , and (ii) , , and for we prove necessary and sufficient conditions for boundedness of the operator .
