Square function estimates for conical regions

From MaRDI portal

Abstract: We prove square function estimates for certain conical regions. Specifically, let Deltaj be regions of the unit sphere mathbbSn−1 and let Sjf be the smooth Fourier restriction of f to the conical region xiinmathbbRn:xi/|xi|inDeltaj. We are interested in the following estimate Big|(sum_j|S_jf|^2)^{1/2}Big|_plesssim_epsilon delta^{-epsilon}|f|_p. The first result is: when Deltaj is a set of disjoint delta-balls, then the estimate holds for p=4. The second result is: In mathbbR3, when Deltaj is a set of disjoint deltaimesdelta1/2-rectangles contained in the band mathbbS2capNdelta(xi12+xi22=xi32) and msuppwidehatfsubsetxiinmathbbR3:xi/|xi|inmathbbS2capNdelta(xi12+xi22=xi32), then the estimate holds for p=8. The two estimates are sharp.
