Tldr This paper develops an algorithm to track the absolute/convective instability boundary using adjoint equations, allowing for more efficient computation compared to traditional methods requiring nested complex-wavenumber and parameter scans. The method tracks the solution manifold directly in combined state--parameter space, reducing computational cost by up to 30 times.
