Union of sets of lengths of numerical semigroups

From MaRDI portal

Abstract: Let S=langlea1,ldots,apangle be a numerical semigroup, sinS and sfz(s) its set of factorizations. The set of length is denoted by mathcalL(s)=tL(x1,dots,xp)mid(x1,dots,xp)insfZ(s) where tL(x1,dots,xp)=x1+ldots+xp. From these definitions, the following sets can be defined extsfW(n)=sinSmidexistsxinsfz(s)extrmsuchthattL(x)=n, u(n)=cupsinextsfW(n)mathcalL(s)=l1<l2<ldots<lr and Deltau(n)=l2−l1,ldots,lr−lr−1. In this paper, we prove that the set Deltau(S)=cupninmathbbNDeltau(n) is almost periodic with period mlcm(a1,ap).
