Weighted integrals of holomorphic functions
Let \(D\) denote the unit disk and \(dm\) the Lebesgue area measure on it. For an analytic function \(f\) in \(D\), it is well known that the integral \[ \int_D | f(z)| ^ p w(z) dm(z) \] is comparable to the quantity \[ | f(0)| ^p + \int_D | f^\prime (z)| ^ p (1-| z| ^2)^ p w(z) dm(z) \] for certain ``reasonable radial weights \(w\) (including, of course, the weight identically equal to one). For example, \textit{A. Aleman} and \textit{A. G. Siskakis} [Integration operators on Bergman spaces, Indiana Univ. Math. J. 46, No.2, 337-356 (1997; Zbl 0951.47039)] used this fact to characterize the boundedness of certain relevant integral operators acting on the Hardy space \(H^ p\), \(p\geq 1\). \textit{A. G. Siskakis} [Weighted integrals of analytic functions, Acta Sci. Math. 66, No.3-4, 651-664 (2000; Zbl 0994.46008)] showed that, for certain types of weights (called admissible weights), an analogous statement holds for the distortion function of the weight: \[ \psi(r)= {1\over w(r)}\int^1_r w(u) du, \quad 0\leq r \leq 1, \] instead of \(1-| z| ^ 2\) in the earlier integral expression, again when \(p\geq 1\). As a main result of the paper under review, the authors apply the usual methods to prove a similar result for the case \(0<p<1\) under three conditions similar to the ones used by earlier authors but more technical-looking. They state that the class of weights satisfying these conditions includes the admissible weights considered earlier by other authors and hence that their results extends these earlier ones. From their main result the authors deduce the boundedness of the Cesàro operator on arbitrary Bergman spaces with admissible weights. The proof of this second result is not carefully written, as it appears that at some point the authors confuse the Cesàro operator \(C\) with another related operator, denoted by \(I\).
