The hydrodynamic behaviour of swarms of monosized and spherical gas bubbles with clean surface moving through stationary power law fluids has been investigated. In particular, extensive results on drag coefficients of bubble swarms have been obtained by seeking numerical solution to the equations of continuity and momentum together with a cell model to incorporate the bubble-bubble interactions. A simple method for estimating the free rise velocity of bubble swarms is outlined which would facilitate the design calculations for gas-liquid contacting devices.
