Almost alternating links (Q1199910): Difference between revisions

This paper gives details of a project extending results about alternating knots and the bracket polynomial to knots which differ in a controlled way from alternating links. The results include estimates of the span for the bracket polynomial, and use combinatorial methods applied to suitable knot diagrams.
