Let \((X,\preceq,S)\) be a complete partially ordered \(S\)-metric space in the sense of \textit{S. Sedghi} et al. [Mat. Vesn. 64, No. 3, 258--266 (2012; Zbl 1289.54158)] and let \(f,g:X\times X\to X\) have the mixed weakly monotone property and satisfy a certain contractive-type condition. The author proves that, if one of these mappings is continuous or the space satisfies certain regularity condition, then \(f\) and \(g\) have a coupled common fixed point in~\(X\), i.e., there exist \(x,y\in X\) such that \(f(x,y)=g(x,y)=x\) and \(f(y,x)=g(y,x)=y\).
