The author considers an arbitrary linear partial differential operator with real constant coefficients in \(\mathbb{R}^ 2\). \[ P=\sum_{p+q\leq m}c_{pq}\partial^{p+q}/\partial x^ p\partial y^ q. \] Generalizing the well known fact that solutions to Laplace's equation can be found as the real or imaginary part of functions of one complex variable, the author shows here that all the real analytic solutions \(u(x,y)\) of the equation \(Pu=0\) can be obtained by means of an explicit algebraic proceeding from the class of analytic functions \(f(z)\) of the complex variable \(z\).
