The author studies the parabolic equation \(\tau \partial u/\partial t+u=d\) \(\partial^ 2u/\partial\theta^ 2+K\sin u(t,\theta-\Delta)\) for \(u=u(t,\theta)\), subject to the periodic boundary conditions \(u(t,0)=u(t,2\pi)\), \(\partial u(t,0)/\partial\theta=\partial u(t,2\pi)/\partial \theta\). In particular, he studies those structural properties which are slowly oscillating in the spatial variable.
