Recently, the author [Dokl. Math. 54, No. 2, 665-668 (1996); translation from Dokl. Akad. Nauk, Ross. Akad. Nauk 350, No. 1, 25-28 (1996; Zbl 0907.42019)] identified conditions on a modulus of continuity \(\omega\) and a nonnegative almost increasing sequence \(\tau\) necessary and sufficient for the Haar-Fourier coefficients of functions \(\phi\circ f\) and \(f\) to satisfy \(\sum^\infty_{m=1} \omega((\phi\circ f)\sphat(m))\cdot\tau(m)\leq C_{\omega,\tau} \sum^\infty_{m=1}\omega(\widehat f(m))\cdot \tau(m)\) for all \(f\in L^1[0,1]\) and all Lipschitz function \(\phi\). In this paper, the author derives different characterizations of those conditions. The original conditions were order growth estimates on partial sums involving parameters \(\delta\geq 0\) and \(N= 0,1,\dots\) . The new characterizations involve integral estimates which allow the author to decouple the pair \(\omega\), \(\tau\) (e.g., obtain the original condition for special \(\tau\)'s and all moduli of continuity \(\omega\)). These results are applied to several concrete examples including \(\tau(x)= x^\alpha\), \(\alpha>0\); \(\tau(x= 2^{x\alpha})\), \(\alpha> 0\); \(\tau(x)= (\log x)^\alpha\), and \(\alpha\geq 0\).
