The paper contains a study of a non-commutative version of the \(D\)-dimensional Anti-de Sitter space \(\text{AdS}_q^D\) with deformation parameter \(q\), where \(q\) is assumed to be root of unity. The author gives a precise definition of the \(\text{AdS}^D_q\) in terms of operators in Hilbert spaces. This definition implies new, unexpected features, e.g. an additional undeformed symmetry \(\text{SO}(D+1)\) or \(\text{Sp}(D)\) (depending on the parity of \(D\)). The presentation begins with a review of basic facts about quantum spaces and groups. Next, the reality structures are described and the real form of the quantum AdS group is determined. After a detailed analysis of the structure of polynomial functions on the complex quantum spaces at the roots of unity, different noncompact sectors are identified. These sectors are related to the definition of Hilbert spaces of scalar fields. Furthermore, the author gives a description of real forms and the Hilbert space representation of quantum spaces. The work is concluded by comments on further developments and discussion of the physical aspects.
