The author studies three-dimensional motion of a nonlinear elastic curved bar as a set of finite number of Cosserat points (like finite elements), taking into account axial extension, tangential shear deformation, normal cross-sectional extension and shear deformation, and rotary inertia. The nonlinear elastic response is hyperelastic with large displacements, large deformations, and large rotations.
