The paper deals with numerical schemes to solve systems of conservation laws and related convection-diffusion equations. The first part of the article is a short overview of one-dimensional fully discrete and semidiscrete central high-resolution methods. The authors propose a new numerical third-order semidiscrete genuinely multidimensional central scheme. Numerical examples are presented (the linear transport equation, the two-dimensional Burgers-type equation, the two-dimensional Euler equations of gas dynamics, the two-dimensional Euler and Navier-Stokes equations).
