Here, such examples are shown to exist in every non-reflexive Banach space, subject to renorming. The proof relies on the following lemma, of independent interest: if \(X\) is a non-reflexive Banach space and \(Y\) is an infinite-dimensional Banach space, then there is an operator \(T:X\to Y\) and a bounded sequence \(x_n\in X\), such that \(Tx_n\) converges to a point which is not in the range of \(T\). | |||
