Recently, the singular direction in the value distribution theory of \(K\)-quasimeromorphic mappings on the complex plane has been the subject of intensive research. In particular, the construction of the Borel and \(S\) radius for \(K\)-quasimeromorphic mappings in the unit disk \(| z| < 1\) has attracted the attention of many mathematicians. In the paper under review, the authors establish a fundamental inequality for \(K\)-quasimeromorphic mappings in the unit disk using Ahlfors' theory of covering surfaces. As applications the existence of the Borel radius and the \(S\) radius for such mappings is proved.
