Verf. gibt eine rasch konvergente Entwicklung für das vollständige elliptische Integral dritter Gattung \[ \Pi = \int _0^{\frac \pi 2} \frac {\sqrt {1-k^2 \sin ^2 \vartheta }}{1 + \lambda ^2 \sin ^2 \vartheta } d \vartheta \] für \(k\), die nahezu 1 sind. \(\Pi \) genügt der linearen Differentialgleichung \[ \frac {\partial \Pi }{\partial k^2} = \frac 1{2(k^2+ \lambda ^2)} (\Pi - k), \] in der \(K\) das vollständige Integral erster Gattung bedeutet. Diese Differentialgeichung wird integriert und im Integral eine bekannte gut kovergente Entwicklung für \(K\) eingesetzt.Das ergibt nach kurzer Rechnung die Entwicklung für \(\Pi \).
