Verf. betrachtet die beschränkten und integrierbaren Kerne \(K(x,y)\), die der Relation \[ \int _0^1 \int _0^1 K(x,s) K(s,t) K(t,y) \,dsdt = \int _0^1 \int _0^1 K(x,s) \overline {K(t,s)} K(t,y) \,dsdt \] genügen, und beweist von ihnen, daß sie mindestens einen reellen Eigenwert haben, und daß alle ihre Eigenwerte reell sind. Das letztere gilt sogar für die { ``Hermitisierbaren''} Kerne, d. i. für Kerne \(K(x,y)\), zu denen ein definiter \textit{Hermite}scher Kern \(H(x,y)\) existiert von der Art, daß \(\int _0^1 H(x,s) K(s,y)\,ds\) (oder \(\int _0^1 K(x,s) H(s,y)\,ds\)) ein \textit{Hermite}scher Kern ist.
